ADDING YOUR EVENT

Posting your event is easy using this online form! Your submission here will populate the Upstate California Creative Corps event calendar. There is a submission approval process, so PLEASE ALLOW at least one full business day for your event to appear. 

EVENT DESCRIPTION

In the spirit of further improving the visibility and impact of your events, we would like to draw your attention to the importance of event descriptions in providing context, clarity, and purpose for your audience. Please consider the following when submitting event descriptions:

  1. Context: Provide context for your event by mentioning how it relates to your programs ultimate mission/goals, the partners, the facilitators, etc. Illustrate the bigger picture for your audience.

  2. Program Goal(s): Clearly mention your project’s program goal(s). Help your audience understand the significance of your Creative Corps project as a campaign of awareness. As a reminder, your project should be promoting one or more of the following:

    • Civic engagement

    • Public health

    • Environmental issues

    • Social justice

  3. Acknowledgement: Let your audience know how and why your project is being supported. Please acknowledge the California Arts Council and Upstate California Creative Corps as outlined in the Acknowledgments One-Sheet.

This information needs to be included in the text that accompanies your promotional materials, not just in the graphics or flyers themselves.

By investing a little extra effort in crafting thoughtful event descriptions, you not only provide valuable information to your audience but also amplify the impact of your projects.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN, you will need: 

  • Event Title

  • Location Type (In person/Online/Hybrid)

  • Venue Name and Address

  • Date

  • Start/End Times

  • Event Type (dance/lecture/festival/music/etc.)

  • Grant #/Grantee 

  • Event Image *This can be a logo, an artwork, or a photo. JPG, PNG, GIF format, no larger than 1MB. Images greatly boost the success of your event.

  • Ticket/Info Link

  • Event Description

TERMS & CONDITIONS:

Events must happen in the Upstate Region and be part of a project that is funded through the Upstate California Creative Corps program. The Upstate Region includes the following counties: Butte County, Colusa County, Del Norte County, Glenn County, Humboldt County, Lake County, Lassen County, Mendocino County, Modoc County, Nevada County, Placer County, Plumas County, Shasta County, Sierra County, Siskiyou County, Sutter County, Tehama County, Trinity County, and Yuba County.

  • Events must be part of a project funded through the Upstate California Creative Corps Program

  • Events must have a firm date.

NOTE:

Upstate California Creative Corps reserves the right to approve or reject submissions. Submissions may be edited for length, content, and format.

TIPS:

DO include an IMAGE. Images greatly boost success.

BE SURE to select ALL the Event Types that apply, but leave unchecked those that do not. Selecting options that do not apply may cause your event to be unlisted due to search features. 

 

Event Description Field

Please don’t forgot to write event descriptions that help the public to understand your project’s campaign of awareness for your program goals. Please make clear the purpose each event serves and how it relates to your project as a whole. Without these descriptions, your events will lose the context of your overall project.
