Midpoint Impact Report

The Midpoint Impact Report—a comprehensive review highlighting creative achievement and economic impact in California’s northernmost rural regions—serves as a testament to Nevada County Arts Council’s unwavering commitment to creative economies, innovation, sustainable growth, and engaging underserved communities. Through diligent efforts and strategic initiatives, our Upstate California Creative Corps grantees have achieved significant milestones and made substantial contributions to advance social justice, support civic engagement opportunities and public health access, and uplift environmental issues and solutions.

Welcome to Upstate California Creative Corps, a newly launched grant program which places artists in service to communities across nineteen counties in Northern California - and get paid for it.

The California Creative Corps is an outreach and engagement campaign designed to increase awareness around environmental issues such as water and energy conservation, climate mitigation, and emergency preparedness, relief, and recovery; as well as civic engagement, social justice and public health.

California Arts Council has selected fourteen organizations to administer the Creative Corps across nine regions. For Upstate California, Nevada County Arts Council will administer $3,384,043 in workforce development funds for artists, as well as for arts and social service organizations who will employ artists between spring 2023 and spring 2024.

Through Upstate California Creative Corps, we invite communities across our Upstate Region to create projects and creative processes which hold meaning for you.
